Favorite Places: Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland

Zurich is an extremely accessible place since it is a major airport and rail hub in the center of Europe.  It is not a city full of spectacular sights, yet what is there is amazing.  It is the way the natural beauty and landscape is balanced with the man-made cityscape that makes Zurich an essential place to visit.  The river and lake that are so essential to the city are pristine in clarity and spectacular color on sunny days, a rare thing in modern cities.
